Acupuncture and Acupressure
Although Acupuncture has been known to the Western world for only a few decades, it has
existed in China and other parts of Asia for thousands of years. While Western medicine only examines
what is tangible and material, Acupuncture studies vital energy (chi) and its meridians, or pathways,
to discover energy imbalances (the imbalances between yin and yang). With the use of very fine needles,
Acupuncture helps adjust these energies and it has been used to treat ailments from allergies to
headaches to back pain. Acupressure uses the same meridians, but instead of needles it uses pressure,
either from the fingers or from instruments. While its concepts appear strange to the West, the bottom
line is that Acupuncture and Acupressure work. To find out more, follow these links.
