Yoga Zone: Yoga Basics
(Koch Vision)
2000
What is it?
Two easy, 20-minute Yoga routines. Who is it for? Beginning Yoga enthusiasts, or anyone who wants a quick Yoga session that's not too challenging. What to expect: A good Yoga practice is built on consistency. You need to do Yoga on a regular basis to make progress and deepen your understanding of the poses. The only problem is that it's hard for most people to find a full hour to hour and a half every day to practice Yoga. This Yoga program from Yoga Zone is great for aspiring Yogis and Yoginis who have some days when they're lucky to cadge 20 minutes for a quick session. These are basic routines, and the poses are thoroughly explained — having them detailed is great for someone who's new to Yoga, and even nice for advanced beginners who need a reminder. Don't expect to do a couple dozen poses — 20 minutes is not enough time to do more than a handful. But you will be able to really focus on the ones you do. (Included are poses such as Cat-Cow, Triangle, Right Angle pose, lunges and, of course, Corpse Pose.) The only gripe about the video — and it's a small one — is that the first 20-minute session ends with Corpse Pose, and the second one doesn't. It should be the other way around for those who have the time and desire to string both sessions together; that way Corpse Pose would be at the end of the extended routine, where it should be. If you get the DVD you won't have this problem. To Order the Yoga Zones Essentials box set, which also includes Fat Burning Yoga and Yoga Sculpting on DVD or Video. Other DVDs you may enjoy:
