What is it?
A half-hour Lotte Berk Method workout that focuses on - you guessed it - your backside. Who is it for? Literally, all levels of fitness. Beginners can do this workout and even experienced exercisers may be sore the day after. You'll need a sturdy chair and a mat. What to expect: The Lotte Berk Method is great at focusing tightly on specific muscle groups. The moves are precise and generally quite small. One of the areas where this approach works extremely well is the glutes. This program leads you through a series of standing exercises that keep your butt and the back of your legs (the hamstrings) under constant tension. Your only chance for release is the stretching between exercises (stretching after each move is one of the signatures of the Lotte Berk Method, and helps create longer, leaner muscles). Although the exercises for your rear end are the main event, this workout begins with a couple of upper body exercises for balance, and ends with a nice stretch session. If you really pay attention to form (which should be easy, given the excellent cueing of the instructor), your muscles will feel fatigued, but you won't feel exhausted. What's great about the Lotte Berk Method is that it's suitable for all fitness levels - one of the three instructors does beginner's modifications, but the moves don't necessarily get easier as you get stronger (if you want even more challenge, the DVD offers a tougher session). This is a highly effective targeted toning workout.
