What is it?
A half-hour Lotte Berk Method workout that targets the abdominals. Who is it for? Both beginning and experienced exercisers will benefit from this workout. You will need a mat. What to expect: Like Pilates, the Lotte Berk Method emphasizes form and precision. That means there are two ways to do this workout: 1) the lazy way - barely paying lip service to the instructor's excellent cueing and doing the moves with your mind elsewhere, or 2) the right way, in which you strictly adhere to form and really make sure your abs and pelvis are sitting where they should be. Those who take the lazy route will complain that this workout is far too easy; those who do it the way they're instructed will find some of these moves truly challenging, even if they are exercise veterans. Many of the Lotte Berk ab exercises are similar to Pilates moves, and they build strength by constantly keeping the muscles under tension. This is an especially good approach for the abdominal area. You also get a couple of upper body exercises at the beginning of this workout and a good stretch at the end. These abdominal moves are highly effective, and they're far more interesting than everyday crunches. This makes Hip Hugger Abs a good addition to nearly anyone's workout library.
