Find out why The Firm®'s new TransFIRMer™ is the best body sculpting exercise system ever! Anxiety - Anxiety, Depression and ADHD related information. |
There's loads of great stuff out there to enhance your physical and spiritual health. Every two weeks, All Spirit Fitness brings you something we've found useful. Sometimes it's a brand new fitness tool, sometimes it's an everyday item that you can find at the store. Whatever it is, rest assured that if it's on this page, we think it's great! WaterMost of you already know you're supposed to drink at least 8 8-ounce cups of water a
day (64 ounces total or approximately 2 liters). This fact is stated so often in so many places
that it probably feels like you're being nagged. Well, guess what? We're nagging you, too. There are
dozens of reasons why you should drink water every chance you get. If you don't drink enough, your
body cannot metabolize fat very well, inhibiting weight loss. Want great skin? You need to moisturize
it outside and in. If you never drink water and allow yourself to constantly be slightly
dehydrated, it can actually do damage to your kidneys. Your body is two-thirds water, and your muscles
are made up of an even higher percentage of water. Even more significantly, your brain is a whopping
95 percent water! Keep yourself hydrated and you will be able to think more clearly.
That measure of 8 8-ounce cups, by the way, is only an approximate measure, and for people who are not very active. On days that you exercise you should drink significantly more water - at least 10 to 12 glasses. You also need more water in hot weather, or if you drink coffee or sodas (because these liquids contain caffeine, which works as a diuretic, drinking them actually removes water from your system). In the winter you still need 8 cups of water. Drink before you get thirsty - thirst is your body telling you that you are already dehydrated! If you have a hard time gagging down plain water, flavor it with a squeeze of lemon or an orange slice (fruit juice has too many calories and is not recommended). There are also a number of flavored fitness water products out now - Gatorade has Propel and Reebok just recently came out with its own fitness water line. You have less excuses to avoid water than ever before, so get drinking! More Great Stuff. |
