It's amazing how something really simple can enhance your weight training experience.
People who weight train for health often don't think about using gloves. They believe that gloves are
only for serious weight lifters - they're extra, unnecessary accessories for "casual" dumbbell users.
But if you weight train a couple or three times a week, it's likely that your hands have a few calluses,
or that you've had a weight-inducted blister or two near your joints. Or perhaps on a sweaty summer
day you've had trouble firmly grasping a weight in your damp palm. These are small problems, but when
you get rid of them, it's almost like creating a new experience out of a familiar routine. Those
training gloves with their open finger holes protect your hands from calluses and blisters and improve
your grip significantly. Use them for a while and you'll wonder how you ever went without them. The
secret to buying training gloves is finding a pair that's not too bulky and is supple enough to be
comfortable and allow total freedom of movement. They should also include a moisture-wicking fabric
to keep the sweat off your palms. Training gloves are a valuable, yet inexpensive, addition to your
strength training accessories. If you have a rough spot or two on your palms from your trips to the
gym, they're a worthwhile purchase.
