Balance training is an important part of your workout, no matter what your goal is. It
builds your stabilizing muscles, from your core to your ankles. With good balance, you move with more
assurance, have more agility and are less likely to be injured. This is true whether you're a pro
athlete or an eighty-year-old retiree. To build balance many people use balance boards, wobble boards
and the like. But what if you're recovering from an injury, want to work up to the challenges of a
wobble board or just prefer a less intense alternative? That's where the balance pad comes in. It's a
foam pad that creates an unstable surface underfoot. Practicing one-legged squats, step-ups and leg
extension exercises on a balance pad will definitely strengthen your stabilizers, and with a lot less
risk than with a wobble board or balance board. And they're simple to use - just place them on any
