If you're a guy and you're reading this, you're probably already more in tune with your partner than most men. Yoga helps balance all aspects of your body and psyche, including the male and female, yin and yang (it also makes for good party tricks). Usually the differences between men and women are delightfully fascinating. But maybe once a month the woman you love does things that confound and frustrate you - she's cranky for no reason, she cries at the slightest excuse and she snaps at everyone... especially you. PMS is no fun for either of you. But don't snap back at her, and don't bother trying to find a solution for whatever she claims is stressing her out - her hormones are the cause and there's nothing you can do about that. What you can do is take care of yourself so you don't react to her moods and create a worse situation than the one you began with. Yoga is great for this. High on my recommended list is the Triangle Pose for sheer mood elevation, Vinyasas such as the Sun Salutation, and Forward Bends for cooling down agitated emotions (your own, not hers). Of course, if her raging hormones have her on a real rampage, maybe the best thing to do is to check out completely with Shavasana - the always relaxing, ever-reliable corpse pose. Sometimes the best way to deal with a woman's mood is to take it lying down. Namasté! Back to Start >> The Premenstrual Blues >> Page 1, 2, 3
