Everybody wants a magic bullet that will get rid of unnecessary bodyfat. Fad diets abound. People
make efforts to "eat right for their type," bow down to Dr. Atkins and complicate their meals with
food combining. There is a dizzying assortment of fat burning, muscle building supplements on the
market. It's enough to confuse anyone. In fact, all these different methods to get - and stay - fit
and trim have confused us all, because we seem to have forgotten the most important ingredient
for good health and well-being: common sense.
(Article continued below.)
The truth is that, unless we are suffering from an illness or a medical condition, our bodies want to be healthy, have moderate body-to-fat ratios and exude loads of energy. It's our minds that are poisoned by exaggerated media presentations of beauty and tricked into believing that fitness can be achieved in some very strange ways. Fitness begins from the inside out. To effect permanent changes in your body, you first must make them in your mind. Get rid of false beliefs and get real. Think practical. Think common sense. Everybody is different, so it's impossible to create a nutritional program that will work for everyone in the space of one article. But here are some facts and suggestions that can help you start making changes, if you so desire. They're all common sense, based on science, and they're so logical you'll wonder why they didn't occur to you - and if you listened to your body a little more and thought before acting, they might have. Our minds should be receptacles of knowledge, gathering facts before coming to conclusions. Instead we've allowed ourselves to be swayed by every new idea that comes along without first examining it. Take these suggestions, think about them, see how or if they apply to your life - then, and only then, take action.
