Quick Fit: The Complete 15-Minute No-Sweat Workout
by Richard Bradley III
2005
What's Bradley's secret? There is none, really. The 15 minutes' worth of exercise is extremely easy to follow: a) 10 minutes of cardio, consisting of walking (outside or indoors on a treadmill), or light moves he calls "quick steps"; and b) four minutes of strength training followed by a minute of stretching. This isn't a high-intensity workout, either — after all, the book's title mentions that this is a "no-sweat" workout. Bradley doesn't ask you to push your limits. He just wants you to get moving at a level that is comfortable for you. If you are older and very out of shape, he even offers modifications called "Quick Fit Lite." If you are in better shape, or are adding Quick Fit to an already-existing exercise routine, there's "Quick Fit Plus," a slightly more challenging version of the workout. But can you really get fit in just 15-minutes a day? The answer is yes... if you really do it every day. And to help you along in making Quick Fit a part of your routine, Bradley gives you a motivational plan and subtle suggestions to make your day more active overall. If you've never exercised before, chances are that the routine in Quick Fit will noticeably improve the quality of your life. Control your portions at meals and make a concerted effort to eat healthier and you could even lose weight! You may even want to explore the world of exercise further (it does happen once you realize how much better you feel). For those who are inspired, there's a chapter on "Moving Beyond Quick Fit." But even if you just do the basic Quick Fit routine, you'll be doing a lot more than the majority of people do. So no more excuses — get Quick Fit and get moving! Other books you may want:
